Hello All,

I hope this post finds you well stuffed from an Independence Day picnic. The July 3rd CSBA ride was close to being a big problem. Not because of the riders(about 18-20) that showed up, they were some good people. We had a cool guy that just moved in from out of state that had a beard and wore a bandanna. Another person that both he and his bike had character, you gotta meet him. A third worked with a gentleman that provided the route sheet for the ride, and he recently came from another country. A young man from college soon to transfer came on our ride, as well. One person we met at our lunch stop and he asked to ride with us. In fact, these five have never been on one of our rides. If it weren't for Leon showing up and the others helping, I would have had to do it all. So thanks everybody!! We had great weather, great roads, good food, interesting people, and the Word of God was put forth. It was a good day, even through our challenges.

Speaking of which, since we were short ride leaders, we could only do two groups, one slow, one medium. Another slow group would have been ideal, since we had over 12 in that group. I had made two U-turns and we also had two crashes. One crash took place from a group on their way to breakfast. I mention it because we had to take time and bandage up the rider from his wounds before we could get going. The other crash involved a rider high-siding. She had a bruised arm and her bike had a broken mirror and some scratches. Despite that, many folk learned a lot and had bunches of fun. All of our new riders said they wanted to come back for more. Praise God! Okay, on to the Scripture;

Scripture Readings for July 2010

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
4In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.
6There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John.
7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe.
8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.[b]
10He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
11He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
13children born not of natural descent,[c] nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,[d] who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The passage shows us that Jesus was before the world became, He was one with God and was God. He was light that came into a world of darkness, a stranger even to His own people. Yet, He gave US the right to become His children, not because of blood lines but by the grace of God. The safety tip for Saturday was body position, where on the motorcycle are you and where should you be? In the same way, what position are you with God? Are you His child, have you received His grace, salvation, and payment for you sins? God wants to have relationship with you, open your heart and consider Him. May God's grace rest on you all.
