Greetings all,

This ride was for most parts a good ride, no crashes and no rain. One of our trail riders got left behind from one of our groups due to some confusion. I am currently in dialogue with some of the members and ride attendees to see that this doesn't happen again. I think the main culprit was that the one group was too large and the leader couldn't see the last bike. We did encounter two roads that were tarred and chipped, stinkin' Penndot! But we were only on them a short distance, so it wasn't so bad. We did do a lot of nice roads and had an awesome lunch at the Sovana Bistro in Kennett Square. We saw a lot of cool farms and houses with animals, some wild and some domestic. I almost took out some lazy buzzards that were eating something on the road, but no harm came to the birds. Thanks to those who lead groups and did trail rider duties. Thanks to some new faces and old friends who came out, some near and some far. Next month we are going north up into the mountains, so I hope to see you all there. Below are the Scriptures for this month.

Scripture Readings for July 2011

This month we address someone who once went to church or tried to follow God, but it didn't work. We want you to know that God is able to do many things.
He is able:
… to deliver Daniel 3:16-17= 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty.
In this passage three Hebrew men in service to the Babylonian king didn't bow to his idol, so they were about to be executed by being thrown into a blazing furnace. They were but God delivered them and they walked out unharmed. In the same way if we turn to God He is able to deliver us from the things that threaten us.

…to fulfill promises Romans 4:20-21= 20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.
Abraham was an old man with his wife and they were without child. God promised him a son in his old age, and a little over a year later his wife became pregnant and gave birth to a son. God has many promises in His Word, as we turn to God, and have relationship with Him is able to begin to fulfill those promises in our lives.

…to guard your treasure II Timothy 1:12= 12 That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.
This letter from the Apostle Paul to Timothy declares that even though Paul is in peril, God is able to protect what Paul has entrusted to Him. The Scriptures never state what that is, but it must of been something that Paul valued very much. In this same way, when we entrust what we have unto God, He is able to guard and protect it. He has our "back", so to speak, when we have relationship with Him.

…to save completely Hebrews 7:25= 25 Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
This passage speaks of Jesus who is our intercessor before God. Just like the Jewish priests in the Old Testament that would pray to God on Israel's behalf. Jesus has become our intercessor and our Savior, He is able to save completely all who come to Him.

…to keep you from falling Jude 24-25= 24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. 25 All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.
Not only does Jesus save us but He is able to keep us and bring us into God's presence when our time on Earth is done.

If you haven't ever considered a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, I would urge you do so. I can give you more information about it and will be glad to discuss it anytime. I hope you all have a great summer and our next ride is August 6th. Be safe.
