John and John at the track

Greetings all - We send up our thanks for blessings of good fellowship during our "Day at the Races" on this Labor Day weekend. We were in dual force this Saturday as I had the pleasure to spend time with John Dobson, Chaplin at Motor Racing Outreach and CCS racer from our CSBRacing Team.

John pitched his tent and setup camp the night before, so when we arrived first thing Saturday morning, we quickly found him and setup adjacent to his pit area. Soon there after our friend John O arrived, and set up his pit next to mine. Having the corner near the entry to the park, we were in a prime spot to be visually seen - and seen we were. We had visitors come over and chat with us in the morning, where we spread the word and shared some of our CSBA information materials. It was a real delight to finally get a chance to have fellowship with Brother John as he shared many stories and trench updates with us. His group is based in the Maryland area and they are quite busy with their outreach. Not only did John update us on the happenings, he also provided us with some 1:1 coaching (Thanks John) Today saw me step-up one rank to the RED group, which is considered intermediate ( White/Red Shirt=Introductory Beginner, White=Introductory, Red=Novice/Intermediate, Blue-Advanced, Black=Expert)

I was also blessed to have a wonderful helper with me (Belinda B) that provided support and wonderful smiles for all to enjoy. She helped with the setup and made sure anyone that needed cold drinks were supplied. The weather was favorable, but not without consistent prayer. The previous day (Friday) still showed 40-50% thunderstorms forecasted - which of course nearly kept us from venturing down. We had a few other friends scheduled to come out, but unfortunately didn't make it out for several reasons (wanting to brave the possible bad weather forecasted, lack of rest, work schedules, etc..) Regardless of the reason, they were with us in spirit all the same.

On a not so positive note, our friend John O did experience a very bad fall just after we left for the day. He was flown by medi-vac to Cooper Trama Center in Camden, NJ. The latest update we have on John (As of Sunday Evening 9/1) is he made it through 2 surgeries Saturday evening successfully. He suffered a shattered pelvis and bruised liver. Turn 1 was not kind to him. Details are vague, but it appears his foot peg penetrated his abdomen when his bike catapulted on turn 1. Please keep the prayers coming. He's at Coopers Trama Medical Center in Camden. Estimates place him there a minimum of 1 week to 10 day, with full recovering over several weeks once released. Thank God John Dobson was there to comfort John O's parents and provide support at the hospital.

I'm sorry to report I didn't have Larry S. (TheXIIIth) with me to capture with his expert eye the images you've come to expect, but we did manage to snap a few pictures to memorialize the day's event. We also managed to get two very short videos of me making my attempts to get around the track as quickly as possible.

As we've done twice before and in our continued spirit of having fun & having fellowship with fellow riders, we heated up the tires in pursuit of eliminating our chicken strips - and yes, it always feels good to be out there running, learning and testing our limits. It's tragic when anyone goes down, especially one of our close brothers/sisters - but we applaud them for exploring their limits. We mustn't be afraid to test our limits. If you've never done a track day, do yourself a favor and try to get in at least one. It will surely make you a better street rider. The pace is yours to set; grab a partner and explore.

Thanks again for everyone's support in today's ride/event. Come out and enjoy our next event which is the"Bux-Mont Rattlesnake Run". Hopefully we'll see you there! I'll post up more pictures as I receive them here and also on our Facebook Forum Page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ChristianSportbike/) & at this event's Facebook Event Page ( https://www.facebook.com/events/156440331224019/)

See you out there - Lets Ride!
