May 2013 Blue Mountain Run

group photo

The day dawned bright and clear, but a bit on the chilly side. It was in the forties when I rode up to the Starlite diner. When I was almost there I realized I left my house too early, as in a hour too early. Oh well. I got gas and hung out with a guy riding with us for the first time on an older BMW. Within 45 minutes we were joined by kirchsnr's and cabanaboy's loud v-twins, followed by R/T with his boxer twin. One or two more folk showed up and we went inside to eat. The food was good and the company was better. Sterling came even though he was bike-less (thumbs up) and Hector showed up (dude where you been?!). Wildwillie and Nick showed up with a new rider on a cool Aprillia, and Daryl appeared like a ghost from the past on a Moto Guzzi.

24 bikes came today and I even had 5 people say they were coming and didn't come. After the riders meeting I split up riders into groups according to their abilities and pace. Ron W. led the lead group and I followed with jlasure, rktec, and andyr leading groups after us. Typical group size was 4-6 bikes. Well, I didn't do that great with my assigning. At the second turn one person from the lead group dropped back to my group, and one person from my group moved up to the lead group.

April 2013 Leap Around Lancaster Ride

group photo

This month's ride the "leap around Lancaster" was a big success. Thanks to the fourteen people that came out to breakfast or to ride. It was cool to see all of you again and to meet two new riders. One rode an older VFR and the other a R1 decorated with Dallas Cowboy logos. Breakfast was at the Starlite Diner in Fogelsville and from there we rode west out to Lebanon county to the MT. Gretna Hideaway for lunch. The food and service there was really good and I read the Scripture afterwards before we did the second half of the ride. Our second half took us to the highest and lowest parts of Lancaster county with a good variety of roads. Hat's off to andyr for a job well done, setting up this route, it was good. Thanks also to jlasure for leading the second group and frindle and kpilot for riding trail. We did encounter some traffic but it wasn't too bad. The weather was nice and I look forward to seeing everyone again next month.

Summarized below are the details from our March Service Project. Thanks to all who came out to help support us in one way or another. This event served as a wonderful community service and also let people know our chapter is about serving and doing things in our community.

For this project, the PACSBA Chapter partnered with The Keystone Community Organization to provide community service to Quakertown, PA and St Johns Lutheran Church on March 2nd, 2013. This Service Project and our efforts were centered on helping prepare the old parsonage building owned by the church, located at 21 South 10th Street (Next to the Church) for the Church Mission and it's inhabitants. Our involvement consisted of light duty, to include painting, sanding and general light duty as directed.

January 2013 CSBA Lunch

It was great to see everyone on Saturday with 8 folks coming out to eat and four riding. The food was good at the 1760 pub and grill. Let's see if I can remember who was there: me, rktec, jlasure and V, J-Mac, kpilot, ANLR 21, andyr, frindle, and johnric42. We spoke about plans for the future and things we'd like to do. One of them being a new route in our south Pa Screamer. We also spoke about new events planned and fun over the holidays.
