As always, I open this report and account of the days events by giving thanks to God for his presence and protection throughout the day. He always provides our needs and I feel extremely grateful to him and our faithful friends that come out to give their support and make our offering a blessing to others. This marks our third “Day @ the Races” track day event this year and in keeping with our tradition, I couldn’t be happier. A special shout out goes to “Noah Lebkicher” and his family. They have a large family group traveling by van to see him graduate from Marine boot camp training this Saturday, so we keep them in our prayers on their journey. Greetings and thanks are extended to everyone in attendance, with a special thanks to all our sponsors that continue to support us and make our “Day @ the Races” such a blessing. We pay and give special thanks to Roy from Absolute Riding Experience for all his help and support to keep our members and friends on the track riding during the event. His team does a super job in organizing and keeping the venue safe and on schedule. We can’t say enough positive things for all his efforts. We also give thanks for the wonderful fellowship with all our friends and family, with blessings of protection experienced during our "Day @ the Races" event this day – we had one (1) downed rider and while it was just a bruised experience, with a little help he was right back up and earned his spot at the “A” group table. Well done!

For an August day, we were blessed with overcast that shielded us from the very hot sun. We maintained a slight breeze that helped give the temperatures more tolerance. I arrived to Thunderbolt just after 6am and was successful in finding Pohlcat’s campsite, so I staged my trailer and started setup. John Dobson and family quickly located me and repositioned their camper and setup next to ours to give us a fortress camp. Nelson’s family and Kat R. then arrived, so we were ready to start camp CSBA assembly. Jim M wasn’t far off, showing up with 2 bikes on his trailer (he came ready to rumble) plus some much needed ICE. With all in attendance and everyone pitching in to lend a hand, our "Camp CSBA" Hospitality tent was ready for action. This event we did the full setup, which showcases separate information and cooking areas; but our team was awesome as usual and got all the banners up and information well displayed. In our standing tradition, I raised the flags marking the official opening of our presence and then my chariot awaited as John D carted me over to the riders meeting in his golf cart. ☺

With our goal in 2014 to reach even more people for attendance and fellowship than 2013, we encouraged all our friends to come down and hangout with us at our "Hospitality Camp CSBA" tent. As on our opening day, I’m proud to report we saw both track riders and non-track riders come down as a show of support and love for our mission. Among our non-track riders that came to show their support were Nelson and wife Lisa, along with their children, the Pohlcat Crew, Dobson Family, Zsofi P, Tunde M, Kathleen R and Addison J. Track riders in attendance where CSBA members Jim M (J-Mac), Rick P (Pohlcat) & John D (CSBRacing). We had several folks visit our tent and actually give us donations – we returned the favor with cold drinks and some great hot foods to curb those racing appetites.

During lunch we enjoyed 1:1 and one off conversations with folks and visitors to our tent. I was unable to share my message as a group since it was hard to gather folks – everyone was off and doing their own thing, which is one of the challenges of this venue. Never the less, I did find the time to talk to some about a joyful spirit, which is our key message for our event. I enjoyed my time with our friends and we found time to enjoy each other’s company. I managed to ride 4 sessions, which was half the day – thanks in part to all the help I had to keep things moving at our hospitality tent. Lastly I’d like to report an honorable mention to myself for making the “A” (blue) group, which meant I got to ride with John D. I got to see just how fast he really is in trying to follow him around the track, which of course gives me a renewed appreciation for his skill as a rider and racer. Him (and his family) were a true blessing to our “Day @ the Races” event and all I can say is I’m glad I’m here to serve and not just race or I would be a far cry off the pace. ☺ This is another great day for the books - a great day indeed!

In our ever growing task to build on this venue and introduce more riders to controlled track day racing, we support our continued vision of what the CSBA "Day @ the Races" mission is all about: "...to enjoy a joyful spirit and fellowship with fellow riders, while always learning and testing our limits for this passion we have for 2 wheeled movement. We shouldn't be afraid to test our limits as that's how true growth in anything is experienced..." If you've never done a track day, do yourself a favor and try to get in at least one session. It will surely make you a better street rider. The pace is yours to set; grab a partner and explore.

Thanks again for everyone's support in our ride/event and our efforts for the CSBA "Day @ the Races" venue. Come out and enjoy our next riding event, which is the "Bux-Mont Rattlesnake Run" on September 6th, 2014. Hopefully we'll see you there! We weren’t able to have Laurence (The XII) with us this time, but I tried to capture a few pictures of our day. I'll post up more pictures as I receive them here and also on our Facebook Forum Page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ChristianSportbike/) and at this event's Facebook Event Page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ChristianSportbike/)

See you out there - Lets Ride!

Scripture for Track Day Event – August 30th, 2014

What is Joy?

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)

Some people think Christians should always be smiling and happy and that something is wrong if they aren’t.

But this isn’t necessarily true. Jesus stood outside the tomb of His friend Lazarus, and we read that “Jesus wept” (John 11:35). As He approached Jerusalem, “He saw the city and wept” (Luke 19:41) because of it’s spiritual blindness and guilt. He knelt in the Garden of Gethsemane and was “in agony…[and] His sweat became like great drops of blood” (Luke 11:44).

Don’t confuse happiness with Joy. Happiness comes with happy circumstances; joy wells up deep inside our souls as we learn to trust Christ. Joy does not mean that we are never sad or that we never cry. Joy is a quiet confidence, a state of inner peace that comes from God.

Life’s troubles may rob us of our happiness, but they can never rob us of the joy God gives us as we turn in faith to Him and seek His face.

In closing, as I’ve mentioned in previous tracks and accounts; no matter how fast you run your race, or how great your skills are (on and off the track), we are all created for God's purpose and should humble ourselves in our gifts and not over shadow those with lesser talent in our excellence areas. Be kind to your neighbor; be of good fruit and a helping hand; at the same time remember to shed the bad rotten fruit and negativity.

Blessings to all!
