What a day! It started early for some and even earlier for others. We had riders from near and far... Long Island, NY, Sydney S., the Hudson River Valley NY, Ben and Abbe O. the tristate corner near Port Jervis. Sandy and Kaelin. Rusty, Kairi and a friend Ramon, snagged me at my early breakfast in Franconia and we had some fun rolling up to the Starlight. At breakfast it looked like we had 18 or so riders. Then I went out and found 13 more ready to go!

After a longer then desired period of talking, we got down to business and got sorted out into 4 groups, went over the rules of the road, thanked the lord for a gloriously beautiful day and set out. So let me back up for a moment, since that seemed to be a rule for the day... I made notes in my notebook about who was leading and sweeping for each group and promptly got it all scrambled up when I made the announcements. Leaders and sweeps were saying - What? To further complicate things, I was using the example of riding at ‘YOUR Pace’ and not to blindly follow the line or pace of the person in front of you. I said I’ve had few people go down behind me over the years so make sure you ‘ride your ride’. When everyone broke into their selected group, the F1 had 3 only riders! Lots of laughs and we picked up 4 more.

The route had us run out 78E to 309S and then wind through Bucks County up, down, and over, just likes a coiled snake. The normal traffic and a few tough roads slowed us down but the groups stayed together and we topped off at an Exxon near 78 at Morgan Hill Rd and proceeded to wind through some nice, some a little rough roads. We got backed up on PA 32, River Rd., but had some fun going through covered bridges and lots of twists coming back toward 611. We crossed over into Montgomery County and stopped for Lunch at Moccia’s Train Stop. We all had points where we got turned around a bit so some arrived later than others. Lunch was terrific and service good.

The WORD was shared; see below, and we got started on the 2nd half. A quick stop at Wawa for gas and an impromptu plug in a tire by a resourceful fellow, Greg and off we rolled. There were some struggles getting past traffic with bridges out and the route had us go through Pottstown – very tedious – we will not do that again. Eventually we ran through the French Creek state park area, with some very fine roads, and back around through Valley Forge Park.

A final stop at Zwahlen's Ice Cream where a boy’s baseball team came in just before us – more delays – but good fellowship and we wrapped up the day.

Words for the Crossroads we will Travel…

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you…” PSALM 32:8 NIV

Sometimes we face a major crossroad in life, and when we do, we find ourselves wondering what God’s will is for the decision we must make. Maybe that’s where you are right now. Fear not, you have a friend in Jesus that you can always turn to.

The most important advice for life’s crossroads is this: “Seek God’s will.” He knows what’s best for you, and He doesn’t want you to wander aimlessly through life. God is like a GPS – when you get off course, seek him and he will recalculate your steps from your current point and get you back on course; you only need to ask and he will show you the road to take. It doesn’t matter where you are in life, he knows how to get you to the right road – trust in him.

Never forget: God made you, and He knows all about you – including the gifts and abilities He gave you. More than that, He loves you and wants what is best for you – always! What Father doesn’t want the best for their children? Maybe you’ve been living for yourself and for the moment rather than for Him and for things eternal. But don’t stay on that path; you will only end up at a blank wall if you ignore God’s plan for your life.

Ask God to guide you as you make decisions about your future, He may not show you everything at once, but with Christ in your heart, you can face the future with confidence, knowing He will lead you in His perfect way. If you don’t know the Lord and want to learn more about him, please don’t hesitate to talk with me, or your friends here – as we are also that light on the hill for you, as Christ was a fisherman of men and women, so are we. Don’t be afraid to ask. Blessings!

Thanks to John LaSure for pulling this together, I counted it a privilege to share.

The original ride report summary that was posted on September 15, 2015 is posted below

On Saturday, September 5, 2015 we held our regularly scheduled monthly street ride. This month's ride was our "Rattlesnake Run" which was a spirited scenic tour of Bucks and Montgomery Counties. It's was a great ride consisting of plenty of twisties to challenge your riding expertise. We had lunch at Moccia's Train Stop in Schwenksville which is always a fun time and then we rode on toward a great ice cream place called Zwahlen's Ice Cream to end the day. There were approximately 28 riders in attendance and while there were a few minor bike issues, the day was a great success. Both John and I had prior obligations and were unable to be present for this ride, but had some of the other members step up to take the lead. Thanks to Rick, Rusty, Andy, and the others who helped make the ride a success. Below are additional photos that were taken throughout the day by Matija Kurek. The full gallery can be viewed here: 2015 Rattlesnake Run. Our next ride takes place on October 3 and we hope to see you there!
